Great Central Railway - Leicester North Station

The Great Central Railway is the UK's only double track mainline heritage railway.
Its southern terminus is on the northern  outskirts of Leicester at Birstal where a new
station was built in the 1980s.  The building was erected in the late 1990s and as funds
permit is being developed in the style of a Great Central Railway station.  In 2008
Able Engineering won the contract to fabricate and erect the station canopy support
steelwork.  Site erection commenced on the 5th January 2009 and required three days.
The Great Central Railway provided craneage and slinging.
